Quote It: Kimura Takuya

17 04 2011

I’m happy that everyone came, and that you are all smiling.”

Kimura Takuya (Marching J, 02 April 2011)

————————————————————————————————————

Woah. This has to be a record. Almost seven weeks since my last post? *self-applause*

Don’t fret! I am nowhere near wanting to give up on my blogtarded activities! lol.

To be honest (and this is going to sound a little hippy or something of me,) since the crises that have befallen Japan, I have been finding it difficult to conjure up enough consistent motivation to update. Not that I stopped thinking about what I wanted to blog about, my brain just always seemed preoccupied… you know, with “real life stuff.”

But if Japan have shown us anything, they have shown us exactly what is real. The love, the courage, the strength, the composure, the dignity, the fighting spirit- it’s all there. It’s a testing time but as American televangelist, pastor, and author Dr. Robert H. Schuller puts it, “Tough times never last, but tough people do.” (That was a bonus quote for you all!) I know I am not the only one praying hard for those who have been affected, and, praying hard for the world. Every little good thought does go a long way <3

And for me, there was something extra special about the above words that came from the one and only Kimura Takuya san at Marching J (seriously, coolest name evah. I am, like, such a proud JE fan ^O^) Dunno exactly why, but the way that he spoke it really tugged me at the heart.

Guess the man’s still got it xDD

But you know, as much as I love him, it’s still fun to, er, poke a lil fun at him and the outfit he was wearing on the day (hey, it’s not like I am the one instigating it >_>;;;)…

^^bwahahaha xDDDDD *hearts on The Dorama King*

More frequent updates on the way, I promise!

Nihon, ganbatte!

[ Btw, photobucket is having issues at the moment thus the grey toned “Looks like this image isn’t showing up!” things being plastered everywhere. Apparently this will be rectified soon, so, gomenasai! Please excuse the fugliness in the meantime. m(_ _)m ]

Yes! An update! I missed your blogging. I was scared that you were giving up on blogging. The recent events of the world has been giving me the blues too because there only seems to be bad news everytime I open my browser to BBC news… so freakin’ depressing. Honestly, dramas/movies and blogs about dramas/movies are a godsend for me. And LOL at the pic.

^^heya mud!! Hope you are doing well & working too hard hehehe Have you managed to watch anything new recently?

I was reading an article about people experiencing signs of depression from being exposed to “too much” news on global disasters, which kinda woke myself up. The images being replayed over & over again really do affect our psychological wellbeing. But the advice for us all is to just be aware of what is happening & then walk away^^

And I know, right, the pic is just epic xDD

Ah, I’m so close to finishing up my school work and getting some R&R with my shows…and then starting summer school. It’s a vicious cycle.

But I have watched a movie recently that set my heart pounding. It was Speed, the 1994 bus movie starring Keanu Reeves. I watched it because it was on tv. Before watching that movie, I was not a big fan of KR, just neutral to his presence. The after effect has been mind-boggling as I am now a very big die-hard KR fan through and through. And the man CAN act, he was wonderful in The Devil’s Advocate. I think maybe he chooses to not do it too much in fear of overworking his acting muscles =)

Oh Keanu Reeves was one of my earliest celebrity crushes!!!!! Yeppies, Speed was what got me, too, loved the Keanu & Sandra Bullock pairing so much that I even ended up “liking” The Lakehouse… which, if I looked at it objectively, wasn’t really all the great of a movie but who gives, it’s Keanu & Sandra baybay!

I think maybe he chooses to not do it too much in fear of overworking his acting muscles =)
^^ahahaha xD Kinda an Odagiri Joe effect? lol. I personally don’t think Keanu’s as bad as some people label him to be but at the same time, I think he does tend to have moments where it appears that he “forgets to act”- really depends on the roles he’s given though and who is he’s acting with :) Also think his earlier works were better overall.

Agree with all your remarks about the Japanese spirit that is showing strength in this disaster. I think it is most remarkable, but almost expect it…. the spirit of budo is there from hundreds of years history.
JE deserves praise for all the truckloads of essentials they sent to the earthquake area. They used trucks that have always been used for concerts so we know they are huge and there are many of them.
I laughed when I saw Kimura san in his blue and white outfit. Actually I thought he was clever because he stood out against a darker background and others who were wearing mostly darker clothes. He looked cheerful didn’t he?
I also loved the video of SMAP when they we all wearing dark suits and reading some of the letters they had received from people in Japan. After that they sang many of their songs and it was very uplifting.

I still cannot get the tsunami picture out of my mind. I cannot imagine a wall of water and mud and house and cars forty feet high rusing along at such great speed. Even now there are aftershocks that are really strong.

Cannot raise the video you sdet up….Sad…

^^tehehe~~ Well, personally it doesn’t come to me as such a shock because Kimura in my eyes has always been the type to dress to stand out (often with the use of accessories or what not) but I do agree he did bring a spark of colour to the ocean of monochromatically dressed JE boys :)

I still cannot get the tsunami picture out of my mind.
^It’s mind-boggling. It’s not until your eyes manage to locate the tiny figures of people in the picture that you can just get a sense of the scale of it all. Inexplicably overwhelming. Then to have to deal with the nuclear crisis is just a whole ‘nother obstacle that you wouldn’t even wish upon anyone. I really am feeling for Prime Minister Kan.

It is very inspiring and enheartening all the people banding together and keeping their spirits up. Not only JE (though they have done quite a bit), but many Japanese artists are holding benefit concerts and events to help support the victims. It is nice to see how much they care about their country and people.

I agree that there does seem to be a lot of depressing news as well right now. So it makes Kimura’s words even better. That they are all there and with a smile.

^^Totally agree re the human spirit bonding all around the world and especially your last line :)))

I’ve also read of many Korean & Hollywood celebrities & athletes having made monetary contributions, it’s so cool. I think Jackie Chan also held a charity show recently but I am yet to see it… I think the response was quite impressive, too.

From one desaparecido to another, glad to see an update (mwahahah!)
I too have been preoccupied with various off-net matters, and natural disasters were the cherry on the icing.

But to avoid straying from my natural silliness into too-deep-and-serious-topics, can I just ask: does the outfit work well in a different background? like a mega poster of the JE-lads in a D&G advert style? :P

It’s a bird! It’s a cloud! oh, it’s KimuTaku! :D

I don’t think the outfit will work well anywhere, except if he were trying to camouflage amongst an observatory up in pristine mountain. The gradient is too sharp for my liking anyway, though you gotta hand it to him for trying to pull it off.

^^bwahahaha^^;;;;; To be frank, I don’t think the outfit would work in any scenario, unless it were a “What Not To Wear” show, lol.

I agree with you mud that the gradient is a smidgen to harsh. I guess if the pieces were worn separately with something else they wouldn’t have been, er, such a statement, but together they are just wrong.

Though I am wondering would it have been better had Kimura coloued his hair blue & white too… may as well go all the way! lol

You know it actually did not seem all that silly to me because I have been watching the Monte Carlo tennis. The outfits some of the male tennis players put on after a match look quite like that blue and white effort. My darling Nadal always puts on a cardigan/sports jacket with a zipper, and it is in two different colours. It’s the man inside that counts…. and both Nadal and Kimura san are gorgeous in anything. Plus with Kimura it is to cheer people up and I’ll go with that.
Gackt is alos doing a lot of things with other artists to help. Don’t know what he is wearing tho.

^Peggy dear! Funny about you mentioning Rafa because my brothers & I were discussing the outfit he was wearing in Monte Carlo (btw, gorgeous, gorgeous views!) the other night. As much as we respect him as a player, we decided his fluorescent top was a cheating strategy- I mean, how difficult would it be for his opponent at the other end of the court trying to see where the ball was sitting???

That said, I do like the fact that he tends to wear bright colours- men’s tennis fashion can just be as fun as the women’s, hey ;))

Yay, jicks is back! I’ve missed reading your posts.

Heya thanks doozy!

I thought of you the other day actually when I came across this trailer:

Matsuyama Kenichi and of course, your Buki (btw, is he ever gonna age :DDDDDD)!
Kinda thinking I will be checking this one out^^

Aw, thanks jicks!

I don’t know what they’re saying in the trailer but the movie looks like something about friendship, coming-of-age, mystery thriller? In any case, it looks intriguing.

How long does it usually take for J movies to be available to overseas fans after after they screened in theaters?

p.s. yeah, dun think Buki is gonna age. what’s his secret? fog bars?

^^I think it depends on which country we’re talking about but from my experience, usually at least 6 months, often more (that is based on subbed copies^^.) <<<"

lololol, I don't know about keeping youth, but Fog Bars definitely keep things cute ;)

jicks! :D I thought it’d be Jin’s new Twitter account that would get you posting again (bwahaha), but at the end of the day it’s still good ol’ Kimmy, ne? xD

But seriously, yay for this post! Viva la Japan! Viva la Kimmy! (Hey correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t this the first time you’ve quoted someone speaking as themselves, and not as a character they were playin’?)

Thanks for the Youtube vid! Prior to this I’d only seen the clip of the Johnnies singing “Sekai Ni Hitotsu Dake No Hana” onstage and doing the hand motions and stuff, and Morita Go in the background was the ONLY one who didn’t know the gestures, hahaha! Always knew he was a bad egg, hahahaha

And that piccie — LMAO priceless baby! I remember someone’s brother in one of the LJ comms commented, “but why is he dressed as an avalanche?” Bwahahaha. But I guess this is one of the times I’m willing to overlook the wardrobe since it was all for a good cause. =P Good to know that judging from the fan turnout (several hundred thousand in 3 days woah!), Kimura’s reception was anything BUT… glacial (hyukyuk). ^^;;

Now all this picture needs is an equally colossal Yonsama swathed in his blinding white Legend robes and snowy mane, leaving his perch in Mount Halla for this monumental meeting of two titans high up in the clouds… And all the puny earthlings will raise their eyes to the heavens and cry, “It’s KimuTaku and Yonsama!!! It’s KimuTaku and Yonsama!!!” EPIK BABY EPIK!!!!!

28 04 2011
jicks

LMFAO at the Yonsama+Kimura image^^;; That would be… horrific, lol. We should have little JEs in the background as well as the troop, all cladded up in armour & feather boas haha. I’m hoping filmmakers don’t see this & pick up any ideas (or do I..?? xPP)

I read alot of those comments as well about the outfit! Poor guy. But at least he stood out from the crowd. And, well, it’s nice to poke a little fun amongst everything that is going on in Japan. And! We know Kimura is man enough to handle it xDD <3

isn’t this the first time you’ve quoted someone speaking as themselves, and not as a character they were playin’?
^*nods head* Spot on baby! Must say that is some fine observational skills you have (must be all the hard work we invest in checking out, you know, JE boys and stuff lol) And you know, it would only be Kimmy who could make me break the tradition :)

Well, would I make you gag or make proud by telling you I am officially following Jinny’s Twitter page?? lololol I don’t know how often you’ve managed to catch his tweets but oh my, it is good entertainment :D :D :D

Don’t hold your breath love, Never gonna happen..The legend from the clouds has never even been invited on to the Bistro. At least not to my knowledge. Maybe because Shingo did such a wicked and really look alike takeoff of the character in Winter Sonata. I saw that and it was falling down funny. The leading lady Chae??? was on the show and she was helpless laughing at Shingo. Those lads are so talented with parodies etc.

JICKS dear. Nadal won the Barcelona match. Seventh time..:-)

AND… was surfing and found beautiful Ranmaru.. Aka Seto Koji. Gosh he is scrumptious. Felt better right away.

^^Can’t deny the man is magic on clay Seriously, they should just give him the 2011 French Open title now & make everyone play for second place.

Re Sato Koji… I take it he is winning you more & more in Gou? Can’t blame ya, the boy is super puuuurdduy ;)

I swear that Koji has a pari of wings hidden away and one of these days they will emerge and everyone will know he is really an angel. That face is too beautiful for an ordinary human. I know it’s wonderful camera work but he is just precious. OK. got that off my chest. :-)

Not exactly sure where I posted it…but I did do a small poem for Kimura re the 38/39 birthday. A small thing but mine own….
It’s on the Little Dorama girls blog. Did it first thing this a.m and not entirely sure why. I was half asleep I think.

Had been reading about how he was saying on Whats Up that he did not like them being up higher away from the fans putting their money in the collection boxes. So he went down off the stage and stood on that level to say thank you to people. He really is a good lad. He also mentioned that the people who live in that particular place were very kind to let them stage it there because it was very crowded and noisy for a few days.

I didn’t know about that Peggy so thankyou for sharing :)) It’s always warming to the soul to see celebs show such down-to-earth character, even moreso during such testing times. And, as much of a Diva some of us can sometimes maker The Dorama King out to be, you got to hand it to him: Kimura is amazing <3 And it’s extra awesome to see him use his fame and status for good xDD

Off to get ready for work now but I will check back on that poem you conjured up soon ^_^
